WEDNESDAY 2ND OCTOBER 2019: This October, the Fondation Louis Vuitton is dedicating all of its 11 galleries, covering the four floors of the Frank Gehry-designed building in Paris, to a comprehensive exhibition on the life and work of 20th-century design visionary Charlotte Perriand, marking the 20th anniversary of her death.
For the first time, the exhibition shines a spotlight on a woman hailed as a pioneer of modernity, a leading figure of the 20th century design by displaying 400 pieces of artworks by 22 different artists and architects. The pieces, including 200 artworks by Charlotte Perriand, are drawn from the Archives Charlotte Perriand, but also from private collectors and international museums
Interviews with Olivier Machelon, Associated Curator at the Fondation Louis Vuitton, as well as Jaques Barsac and Sébastien Gokalphe, co-curators of the exhibition, and Arthur Rüegg, Former Professor of Architecture and Construction at the Department of Architecture at ETH Zurich and Scientific Advisor for Reconstructions to the exhibition, will be available to download. GVs of the exhibition at the Fondation Louis Vuitton will also be available free of charge and free from copyright restrictions from 09:00am GMT on 2nd October 2019.
